Your entire contribution at givetopublicradio.org or 1-888-814-1555, minus a standard credit card merchant processing fee, supports your local public radio station. Just choose your station when you contribute. The Best of Public Radio enables your station and the others participating in this national fundraiser to raise more money and acquire more new donors with less effort and cost than a typical fund drive.
Can I give directly to the programs, personalities or public radio networks mentioned on The Best of Public Radio? No. The Best of Public Radio is a fundraiser for your local public radio station and the others participating in this national fundraiser. Your contribution at givetopublicradio.org or 1-888-814-1555 will be used to create local programs at your station. They'll also use some of your gift to pay for the national programs you listen to.
How will my contribution be listed on my credit card statement? It will be listed as a charge from Best of Public Radio.
What is The Development Exchange, Inc (DEI)? DEI is a non-profit association dedicated to serving public radio stations. DEI is processing contributions for participating stations as part of The Best of Public Radio. DEI does not keep any part of your contribution. Your entire donation, minus a standard credit card merchant processing fee, goes to your station. Is my entire gift tax-deductible? Yes. The email you receive after giving serves as your tax receipt.
Can I pay by installments? Installments are not an option through givetopublicradio.org or 1-888-814-1555.
Can I mail my contribution to my station? Yes. Click here to find your station on the list, then click on your station's name and you'll find its mailing address.
Will my name go on someone else's mailing list? You might receive an email inviting you to participate in a survey about the Best of Public Radio. You will not be asked for an additional contribution if you choose to participate in the survey. Your name and contact information will become part of your station's donor file and is subject to the same protection and restrictions afforded all donors. Aside from these uses your name will not be given to or used by NPR, APM, PRI, DEI, or any other organization for any purpose.
I heard the names of programs that aren't broadcast on my station. Are these programs going to be added to the schedule? It's best to check with your station, but probably not. The Best of Public Radio highlights interesting stories from a variety of programs across public radio, including some that may not air on your local station.
Can I hear The Best of Public Radio on-line or buy a copy of the special? No, but you will be directed to links to the stories you heard in the special after you make a contribution.
